How a Fashion Buyer keeps it chic when travelling...

With a resume that reads like fashion pages of VOGUE, Head of Product at Lovisa – Andrea Haynes has spent the last 18 years living and breathing fashion, trends and retail. Having worked internationally and locally buying brands such as Prada, Christian Louboutin, Moschino, Jimmy Choo, Seed and Mollini - Andrea knows a thing or two about stylish travel and of course… shopping.

Most of us have an idea of what it would be like to be a Fashion Buyer. What’s the reality?
Long hours, fast pace, high pressure and immense satisfaction when the customer loves the product you put into stores

Your job has taken you to some of the most amazing cities including New York, London, Milan, Tokyo, Paris and Copenhagen – which is your favourite and why?
This is a very difficult question to answer, I love many of the cities I have visited for different reasons…here’s the shortlist – Tokyo because it is unlike any other place I have ever visited, Paris for its gritty beauty and chic locals, I love Copenhagen’s vibe and open spaces and I love the buzz of New York

But seriously – how many international flights do you think you’ve taken in the last 10 years?
70….gulp!

Aside from the basics (passport, credit card, suitcase), what three items are must-bring things for you when you travel?
Hyaluronic Serum to keep my skin hydrated, my trusty Comme de Garcons small pouch to save my shoulders from carrying a bag all day and a suit bag to carry on my ‘favourite’ clothing in case my luggage is lost.

You’ve got 24 hrs to spend in Paris, what are you going to do?
An early morning at Le Puces Flea Market…hopefully to find some vintage Chanel jewellery, then a wander through the gardens of Versaille, shopping in St Germain, then finish off the day with wine, cheese & people watching at Café de Flore
